On August 18, the final of The 8th Huawei Cup China College Students Intelligent Design Competition was officially held in Guilin, Guangxi. Under the guidance of Mr. Lin Shengqing, the "Take-out Receiving Cabinet" project of Team XLH from FIT (team members: Xie Chao, Lin Haojie and Hu Shihua), won the first prize.

According to the introduction, the "Take-out Receiving Cabinet" project combines the technology of temporary storage cabinet, IoT and big data, and includes the functions of intelligent identification, monitoring and management, privacy protection and customization services.

The Huawei Cup China College Students Intelligent Design Competition has been held since 2011. The competition aims to demonstrate and exercise the ability of college students to solve problems by using the theory and technology of intelligent science, to improve their comprehensive design ability, to cultivate their innovative consciousness and team spirit, and to promote the reform of teaching practice and the cultivation of students' practical ability in the fields of intelligence and related disciplines in colleges and universities.

The competition was chiefly sponsored by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and the Steering Committee of Computer Teaching of the Ministry of Education, and organized by Guilin University of Electronic Science and Technology. The competition was officially launched in February and the final competition was held from August 15 to 18, lasting seven months. There were 103 teams coming from 42 universities including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Wuhan University and Xiamen University.
